Tastemakers 2025: Cocina 35
Owners, Cesar & Paulina Chaidez
If you’re seeking the best chilaquiles in the city, look no further than San Diego’s chilaquiles masters, Cocina 35. Known as the perfect place to celebrate your special occasions with loved ones and friends, this family-owned business began more than 30 years ago in Sinaloa, Mexico. It came to San Diego in 2012, when Paulina Chaidez and her brother, Cesar, continued the legacy of their parents, opening in Otay Mesa. Today, Cocina 35 has five locations in San Diego— including the newest location on the water with spectacular views of the bay and city skyscape. It continues to serve the old- school Mexican flavors and family recipes that patrons love but does so through the eyes of the next generation, meeting the styles and trends of today.
